Frank's Fantastic Fiction

New in the library is the Miss Frank's Fantastic Fiction Recommendation section. I really liked these books and thought they would be good for students in fourth and fifth grade. Take a look!

Kindergarten Books

Kindergarten students will be taking books home for the first time this week! They are very excited! Each student will have a bag to keep their books in and to help keep the books clean and dry. The bags are labeled with the student's library day and should be sent back to school each week. Have fun reading!

Getting Along Swimmingly

The first week of school is over, and things are moving along swimmingly. It has been great to see old students again and to meet the new ones. Kindergarteners have been checking out the media center, and the old kids have been checking out the great books! Fish has been our theme: they decorate the doors and windows, there are books by each enterance, and everyone loves the fish tank made out of an old computer. The fish's name is Cheese, and his home is an old Macintosh. After all, don't we all love Mac and Cheese!

LibraryTech Under Construction

Years ago I saw a display like this in a window downtown and always thought it was a great idea. What should I display to start the year? Why, construction books of course! LibraryTech is a new class using technology to emphasize books and reading. I have so many ideas to sort through, I feel that an "Under Construction" theme fits right in. School starts tomorrow and I can't wait to see all the kids again and start sharing about books!
